I like to think that if you’re here, reading this, you came here for more, after reading the other mini rituals post I wrote. If not, go read it after this one, because here, good things always come in a bunch.
Ever since I have started to write about things I am passionate about, meaning all things witchy and whimsy of course, I have realized I am having a hard time stopping myself. I am giving you here information that I have been gathering for almost 20 years, and I am excited beyond words to share all this with you, so at times, once I have uncorked my bottle of knowledge (picture this star-shaped and with a shimmering liquid inside please), it is very hard for me to put the lid back on. Nevertheless, I am excited to welcome you in our witchy classroom once more and so, without further ado, let’s get into it:
1. Magickal ingredients
After I have written my previous post, where I mentioned adding cinnamon to our morning coffees to call in abundance and prosperity throughout our days, I thought, why stop there? Why not extend this practice to all our meals and beverages? That being said, I invite you to try and be mindful for a couple of days with certain ingredients you choose to add to your breakfast on important days or to your dinner after a difficult day and see if you notice a difference in your life.
Of course, you don’t have to stop there, you are only limited by your imagination. You can brew teas depending on what outcome you wish for, or you can add certain spices and herbs to whatever you consume to make your life easier. In my mind, these are enchanted powders, and I like to keep them in little whimsical containers, always ready to use.
I fear that if I try to go into details now, with the meaning and use of each ingredient, I will once again not be able to stop, but I promise you a kitchen witchery post is next on my list, so if you need ideas for your apothecary, keep an eye out for that.
2. Protection Bubble
I have started my journey in the witchy arts in the protection department and, without sounding condescending, I think anyone should do so. Even if you have no interest in this field, I still think that you should know at least one way that you can protect yourself, so I am giving you the most accessible one I know: protection bubbles.
Whether you believe in magick or energy or any of this woo woo stuff I keep blabbing about or not, I am sure that you agree with me when I say that sometimes some places or people just feel off or draining. Just existing around them gives you a headache and you want to get away from them but you can’t. You might be in a meeting or on the bus, places that would be rather hard to escape in the moment, and that is exactly the right time to use your protection bubble.
Here is how it goes. Take a deep breath and imagine a stream of golden or pure white light coming from above and pouring into your body through the top of your head. Follow this stream with your exhale out through the bottom of your feet and into the earth. On your next inhale imagine that you are drawing energy from beneath your feet, and with the exhale let it shoot out from the top of your head like a fountain and then rain down on you.
As you imagine this, visualize and feel how this energy is building a cocoon-like bubble around you, like a protection shield. Next, conjure a happy feeling or emotion, a memory, anything that makes you feel warm inside, and let that shine outward into your bubble, to strengthen it, to attract the like and reflect back anything that’s of no use to you.
That’s it. Now you can exist comfortably in your bubble, and if at any point you feel like that icky feeling is trying to creep back in, just bring back that happy feeling in your heart and push it outwards.
3. Carry crystals with you
If you happen to have some small crystals around your house and don’t know what to do with them, you can always take them for a walk. First, pick crystal based on your intention for the day, consulting the guide below if you need. Keep it between your hands for a couple of moments and connect to its energy and program it with your intention. After, just put it in your pocket, your bag, or if you’re feeling quirky, in your bra, and let it infuse your day with magick.
- CLEAR QUARTZ: great for putting your thoughts in order and clearing up the fog in your head, focus
- ROSE QUARTZ: love, especially self love. It opens up your heart, amplifying your compassion and ability to forgive
- CITRINE: it’s like a magnet for all the good stuff: luck, money, happiness, success
- JADE: attracts abundance and good luck and balances your emotions
- LAPIS LAZULI: helps you speak your truth and enhances your communication skills
- CARNELIAN: makes you more confident as well as increases your creativity and motivation
- AMETHYST: has a soothing energy, helps you stay calm under pressure, protects you, and aids in spiritual growth
- BLACK OBSIDIAN: a great protection crystal (all black crystals are great for protection)
- TIGER’S EYE: if you need an extra boost of confidence and courage, carry tiger’s eye with you
- MOONSTONE: strengthens the voice of your intuition and your ability to be in flow with life
- GARNET: this is a bonus one, I like wearing it on my period ring to more deeply connect with my body and my energy
4. Enchant your everyday objects
There are little things that you can do with literally anything you own that can effortlessly bring a little bit of magick into your life, depending on what you feel like you need in one particular moment. My favorite thing to do is to carry a bay leaf and a citrine in my wallet to attract abundance.
Sometimes I like to go the extra mile and spray some bills with my perfume and put them in my wallet, so I can connect my energy to the energy of the money. Since you have already learned how to draw sigils (if not, then check out this post), you must now know that you can use them for absolutely anything you want.
You can draw a good luck sigil and put it in your pencil case during an exam. You can draw them on the tags of your clothes or simply on a piece of paper, or a bay leaf if you’re feeling extra, and carry them in your pocket. Or put them in your makeup bag. You can do this however you want, the world is your oyster, just experiment and have fun with it
5. Nature Walks
This might not sound very witchy, but hear me out. In this day and age we got accustomed to living in constant stimulation. There is always some kind of noise around us or in the background, to the degree that we might not even perceive it anymore.
In a world that encourages productivity above everything, one’s well-being included, I must ask you, when was the last time you did one thing and one thing only? No multitasking, complete focus. If you can’t remember the last time that happened, I think nature walks would be a great mini ritual to have in your arsenal.
The idea is simple: go on a walk with no distractions. No headphones, plus points if you manage to leave your phone home as well, no company, no nothing. Just you with yourself. It is called a nature walk, but don’t stress if where you live doesn’t allow you to go for a full-on forest walk. A park is enough. And if there’s no park around you, just pick a quiet, less busy street and start walking.
You might find it difficult at first, even a waste of time maybe. Just walking without learning anything new from a podcast or audiobook, no background music, just you with your thoughts. But that’s the thing. When you allow your natural state to take control, when you stop and listen, you will notice that you’ll be able to access a superpower part of your brain.
Worries that have been weighing on you for years, stress that’s been with you for as long as you can remember, answers you’ve been looking for for a long time, everything can be softened with a distraction-free walk. Just let your worries be carried away by the wind as you walk, focus on the beauty you encounter, the perfect balance and cycles of nature, remember that you are part of them, constantly flowing, constantly evolving. Let yourself find inspiration and joy everywhere you look and when you’re ready, just listen. You will be surprised by the things that will be revealed to you.
And, an added bonus, this type of activity is perfect for those of you who don’t enjoy or understand meditation.
6. Moon Water
Basic? Maybe. Efficient? 100%! If you’ve seen too many videos about it and are confused or if you have no idea what I am talking about, don’t worry, I am going to make this really easy for everyone.
What is Moon Water? It is basically water that you have left outside under the moonlight to absorb its properties.
How to make Moon Water? Put your water in a transparent container and place it outside under the moonlight, or if that’s not possible for you, place it somewhere on a windowsill where the moon can see it. Leave it there all night and try, if you can, to bring it inside before sunrise. After that, label it with the kind of moon it sat under and the date and store it in a dark place, protected from sunlight.
Now the fun part, how do we use moon water? Again, the sky is the limit. Usually I like to use full moon water for cleansing, protection, banishing, or releasing, and new moon water for rituals involving any new beginning or manifestation. When it comes to eclipse water, I tend to steer clear of that, but if you want, you can use it for any kind of baneful spells.
Some ways I like to use it include adding a few drops of moon water to my bath or doing a hair rinse with it after I have washed my hair. I like to use it to wash my face and clean my makeup brushes with it. After a stressful day, when I come home, I like to wipe my phone with a cloth with a few drops of water on it. I water my plants with it. On important days I imbue it with positive affirmations and drink it in the morning. I sprinkle it on my pillow before I go to sleep and many, many more, but I am sure you are already coming up with some uses of your own
7. Nightmares be gone
I don’t know if this ever happened to you, but I went through times when no matter what I did I was plagued by nightmares, so how to better spend those sleepless nights when I didn’t want to fall asleep for fear of having another nightmare than researching how to get rid of them.
The previously mentioned moon water sprinkled on your pillow before going to bed is a good place to start, but if you feel like you need something stronger, try placing an amethyst on your night table, under your pillow, or you can simply go to bed wearing an amethyst.
If you still feel like that’s not enough, I would warmly recommend you a very low effort 7-day ritual. Place a bowl of salt, preferably crystal if you have one, on your nightstand and leave it there for 7 nights. On the morning after the 7th night, get rid of the salt, discard it in the trash or bury it outside, or even throw it in a stream if you feel like it. Even if this is a ritual spanning several days, you should already start to feel its effects on the first night
I hope you could contain your excitement to get start until the end of the post, if not, good for you, that’s the spirit!
I just want to add that if you ever feel overwhelmed by all the information out there, you’re not alone. I stood there times and times again over the years until I realized that I don’t have to do it all. This is a list of suggestions, you don’t have to start implementing all of this as soon as you wake up tomorrow. Pick one that sparked intrest and roll with it. And if it feels good, add another one. And if nothing is up your alley, that’s also good, I trust that in time you will find something that will feel just right for you. But for that, don’t forget to come back and see what’s happening in our cozy witchy corner of the internet.
Until next time

Despite being in the science world, I truly believe in the healing powers of crystals. I saved your list of protective ones! Another cool thing to do is cleanse them with moon water and a bit of salt. As a kid, I used to leave my entire collection (yes, all 150+ minerals) on the balcony inside plastic containers filled with water and a pinch of salt to absorb the full moon’s energy. I have to say, the house always felt lighter afterward, hehe! I definitely need to try the protection bubble, I have seen it work for so many people. Thank you for this list!
Have a witchy, cozy week!
XOXO, Kurtiboo :*
