Hey there

Beginnings have always seemed like a reason to be agitated, aggravated and just overall not very snug and toasty. And we don’t really vibe with that mindset. Why should we view it as a nightmarish hustle when we can clothe it in other stylish garments? Such as, a celebration!

Because that is exactly what this is. We shall celebrate passion, hope, connection and, obviously, having fun! And, because any adequate party deserves a heartfelt introduction of its hosts, we are here to present ourselves.

Before we even dreamt of being anything else, we were sisters. We are sisters and we will forever be sisters, no matter how far apart we are or how many articles of clothing we steal from each other (still waiting on that T-shirt btw). Although we have a pretty generous age gap between us, our minds and hearts have always bridge the difference. Weirdly enough, almost no one seems to identify this inner likeness and mistakes us for anything other than sisters (and we mean anything). Alas, we are not discussing our differences just yet. We want to talk about the essence of it, what brings us together, and that is our love for teas, storms and everything fuzzy and warm. Our main quest in life is to embrace all that makes us feel soft and calm inside and extend on it. You can think of us as the ambassadors of cozy. Our kitchens are coated with a wide assortment of teas, gingerbread spices and cookie cutters. Half of our perfumes smell like a bakery and our Christmas traditions start from the second half of November. We are nothing if not dedicated to making every day feel like a slow morning at grandma’s house. We also happen to believe that this specific kind of feeling, that sense of effortless belonging, like the whole Universe is taking care of you, can be found in all aspects of life. Once you manage to identify it a couple of times, it becomes something natural. Just like when you think too much of a certain song and then it starts playing everywhere you go. Start knitting warm moments and your life will gently become a tapestry of softness.

At this point, the pronoun “we” has been used because this is what we aim to create, a welcoming sense of community. However, we can’t deny the essential aspect that makes a community thrive, contrast. And, even if we have described ourselves as a homey-loving version of the Moirai, we should also highlight our differences. These differences have allowed us to get so close to each other over the years and also, to work together as a team.

Perhaps the best way to encompass our personality and energy is to compare ourselves to celestial bodies.

Her favorite activities include writing, reading and baking when in love.

We have the Sun – lover of the morning sunshine which peeks through the windows (she may also possess a couple of sun catcher stickers in the shape of butterflies). She enjoys the slow whispers of autumn, but wishes summer could emerge from its own ashes. This doesn’t stop her from indulging in recreating any recipes that contain the word “fall”, “apple” or “cinnamon”. Her favorite activities include writing, reading (because what kind of sphere of hot plasma doesn’t?), and baking when in love. She enjoys other human aspects as well, for instance thrifted clothes, foliage and the concept of dreams. The Sun also happens to be the younger sister.

The Moon finds her peace in everyday witchy rituals, hunting for bizarre candle flavors and hanging out with her sister

On the other side, one can find the Moon – prefers it when the day is short and the teapot is always on the stove. She sips on her coffee even when it’s cold because it has caught the aroma of nostalgia. Passions include sports that don’t involve touching the ground and starting a myriad of projects at once. Her residence smells like books and home cooked meals. The Moon finds her peace in everyday witchy rituals, hunting for bizarre candle flavors and hanging out with her sister (objectively speaking). When there’s rain pouring on the rooftop and the air smells like smoked wood, she can be found knitting on a balcony or reading romcoms in a cushioned spot. The Moon is the older, very protective and good-with-Google-maps sister.

Now that you probably have an idea of us and our way of moving through the world, we can continue with our little project, our shared burrow of ideas. This blog has been created using our most successful technique, namely laughing and chattering until thoughts form into plans, plans into actions, and actions into more giggles and inside jokes. With a lot of coffee and sweet treat breaks in between, of course. The best part has been that, when one doesn’t know something or wants to give up, the other puts on double the amount of energy and optimism to keep up the motivation. Moreover, we can both do what we individually love – one loves writing, the other designing. And, as we both adore baking and testing out recipes, we can spot quite easily one that works. We know this is one of those special ones that turn out amazingly even with an ancient oven.

On this blog, a handful of subjects will be discussed. We hope that everyone will be able to find a tiny corner of warmth to call home around here.

No matter the season, we always find something to make us smile and clear out some space on the shelf for another bunny-shaped mug. Some weeks seem never-ending, so we are in need of a hidden coffee shop where we know the almond croissants are crunchy and the lattes tasty. Some flower arrangements make the apartment smell like a garden from our childhood, so who could be sad with a piece of heaven waiting for them when they wake up?

Anything that gives us a reason to meet up and discuss for hours seems more than worth it. One of those things that can fuel both feelings and conversations are books. So you’d be right to expect some book reviews around here. We mainly judge on how things made us feel and what they reminded us of. If a book tastes like fall 2010, we (or at least, the sister that wasn’t under 10 years old back then) will most likely gush over it. If you are into that, we would love to rave together about book boyfriends, subtle jabs at society and maps included at the beginning of books.

This subsection will include anything mystical ranging from approachable spells to rituals related to the different phases of the moon. So many whimsical subjects will be discussed here, making it the perfect nook of the internet where one can learn how to brew healing teas or enhance their inner power through crystals. Every day can be filled with intention and magic if only we allow ourselves a little bit of time to alchemize the mundane.

On our own different paths, we have gathered some beautiful information that we would love to share with anybody that wants to listen. Usually, what our grandparents casually mention over tea time will contain the most hidden piece of wisdom, one that only becomes relevant after years and years of trying to understand who you are. Most often, when you keep seeing that name of a city or reading about that one spot, it is absolutely not silly or merely a coincidence, but a calling that yearns to be answered. And always, always, what you loved doing as a child will gently trace your true and undeniable passion as an adult. All of these occurrences will be explored together right here.

Alright, now you have snuck a peek at who we are and our honey-flavored mission. We truly hope you will join us again next week and every week after that. New ideas to cozy up your day-to-day life are already in the making and we are so so excited to share them with all of you!
